Bomb scare triggers evacuation at LAX air cargo facility
CARGO facility at Los Angeles International Airport has been evacuated after an explosive trace detection scanner registered an alert, reports LA's City News Service.
Airport police say an LAPD bomb squad has determined that a suspicious package that prompted the evacuation of the Southwest Airlines Cargo facility in the 5700 block of Century Boulevard near Los Angeles International Airport contained only medical equipment and tubing.
Staff was soon allowed back into the building. A police bomb squad unit was called to examine a package at a Southwest Air Cargo facility at Los Angeles International Airport after an explosive trace detection scanner registered an alert, according to airport police.
