Air China Cargo to start Shanghai-Edmonton-Dallas freighter service
AIR China Cargo is to start Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday freighter flights from Shanghai to Edmonton, Alberta and Dallas, Texas from September 3.
In addition, the carrier said it will be the first and only Chinese cargo airline to launch a direct cargo service between Shanghai and Edmonton.
The new service will allow cargo from central and western Canada to reach the rest of the carrier's global network through its Shanghai hub, reducing transit times, reported American Shipper.
The service will be operated by a new Boeing 777 freighter that the airline received last week, joining a fleet of seven B777Fs, B747-400Fs and four B757-200SFs. Its last Boeing 777F will be delivered this year.
