South Korea's air cargo up 4.9pc despite Mers outbreak
SOUTH KOREA's air cargo traffic in the first half of the year rose by 4.9 per cent to 1.88 million tons compared to a year earlier despite the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) that started in May.
Come June the outbreak had begun to take its toll on air traffic and the economy, the government said, reports Yonhap.
The disease has since claimed 36 South Korean lives while infecting 150 others in the Southeast Asian nation.
