Xiamen Airlines signs Dutch trucker Jan de Rijk Logistics for pan-Euro service

XIAMEN AIRLINES has awarded a new three-year road feeder services contract to Jan de Rijk Logistics, extending its delivery network to over 100 airports across Europe.

The new agreement enables the airline to offer a wide choice of destinations to customers, moving shipments on its flights between Europe and Asia. 



By the end of July, Xiamen Airlines will start flying thrice weekly from Xiamen to Amsterdam, said its cargo chief Gaorong Yang. 



"Supported by Jan de Rijk Logistics, Europe's biggest and most trusted air cargo trucking company, we can offer our international clients extensive and reliable services," he said.



Said Jan de Rijk Logistics CEO Sebastiaan Scholte: "We are excited about the new relationship with Xiamen Airlines and we look forward to be their future partner in their ambitious growth plans."



As the only Chinese airline with an all-Boeing fleet, Xiamen Airlines has 114 aircraft with a total of 18,824 seats, and an average airplane service age of 5.48 years, as of February 1. 



Xiamen Airlines operates 220 domestic routes, and 30 international and regional routes, and flies more than 3,200 flights each week. 



Jan de Rijk Logistics, based in the Netherlands, is a leading provider of transport and distribution services, operating a large, modern and diversified fleet of 600 vehicles across Europe. 



Jan de Rijk also offers warehousing, retail distribution and patient home deliveries. Jan de Rijk Logistics has 23 offices in 13 countries and employs more than 1,000 staff in Europe. The company also operates two daily trains between Italy and the Netherlands.
