Hapag-Lloyd strengthens West Africa-N Europe WAX box loop
GERMAN container shipping line, Hapag-Lloyd, is improving its service between West Africa and North Europe, by starting a new West Africa Express service (WAX) August 10 that offers competitive transit times of 13 days from Antwerp to Dakar, and 11 days from Abidjan to Antwerp.
The carrier said this standalone service with "high reliability and multiple connections to its comprehensive global service network at major transhipment ports". The port rotation is: Antwerp, Hamburg, Algeciras, Dakar, Tema, Abidjan and back to Antwerp.
"Within the last years we have seen continuous growth from and to West Africa due to rising investments, growing import and export volumes as well as an increased demand for selected products from West Africa," said Hapag's European trade chief Michael Pradel.
