Hactl passes WHO's pharma Good Distribution Practices audit
TOP HK groundhandler, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), has successfully passed its World Health Organisation (WHO) Good Distribution Practices (GDP) annual audit, the company announced.
Hactl achieved GDP accreditation covering the provision of handling, logistics and storage services for pharmaceuticals in 2014. It was the first handling agent in Hong Kong to do so.
The audit, needed to maintain accreditation, was conducted by independent auditor SGS, and included full surveillance of Hactl's staff competence, premises, equipment, processes, quality control system and hygiene standards.
"It confirmed that Hactl's cold chain management system continues to conform to its specified standards and those of the relevant GDP legislation and guidelines, and that the company continues to adhere to its stated policies, objectives and procedures," said the Hactl statement.
Said Hactl quality assurance manager Benny Siu: "We are delighted that Hactl has successfully passed the annual auditing of its pharma operations."
Said Hactl CEO Mark Whitehead: "Pharmaceuticals are an increasingly important part of the total air freight market. I am very pleased with the direction of the GDP initiative, and its positive impact on air freight's ability to serve this sector."
