Yang Ming joins South America-Asia Pac Loop 2 with Hanjin, HMM
TAIWANESE shipping line Yang Ming is partnering with Korea's Hanjin and Hyundai Merchant Marine to offer a new Asia Pacific-Latin America service, in an effort to boost transit times and expand port coverage from Asia to the west coast of Latin America, including Mexico.
Ten 4,500-5,500 TEU boxships operate the South America Loop 2, which commenced sailings on July 11, IHS Maritime 360 reported.
The port rotation is Kaohsiung, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Manzanillo, Buenaventura, Callao, Valparaiso, Lirquen, Manzanillo, Busan and back to Kaohsiung.
Back in April Yang Ming, PIL, Hyundai Merchant Marine and "K" Line launched the South America Loop 1 service. Eleven 4,250-4,600 TEU box ships are deployed on this service, with a transit of 84 days.
