LATAM Airlines Group June cargo down 9.9pc as freighter capacity falls
LATAM Airlines Group, a leading airline group in Latin America, has posted a 9.9 per cent year-on-year decline in air cargo traffic in June while the load factor fell 4.4 points to 52.5 per cent.
Cargo traffic continued to be weak in June, especially in Brazil domestic and international markets, reported the American Journal of Transportation.
"We continue to adjust cargo capacity through a reduced freighter operation, which resulted in a decline of 2.3 per cent of cargo ATKs in June," said a company statement.
Passengers increased 1.9 per cent while capacity increased 2.3 per cent. The load factor for the month decreased 0.4 points to 81.5 per cent. International traffic was 54 per cent of the total.
Domestic traffic in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia increased 5.4 per cent, while capacity rose 2.5 per cent. The domestic load factor increased 2.2 points to 78.3 per cent.
