Airbus to set up A330 completion and delivery centre in Tianjin
AIRCRAFT manufacturer Airbus has signed an agreement with the Tianjin Free Trade Zone Investment Company Ltd and the Aviation Industry Corporation of China to set up an A330 completion and delivery centre (C&DC) in Tianjin.
The C&DC will be located near the existing Airbus A320 family, final assembly line in Tianjin, the American Shipper reported.
Aircraft will be assembled in Toulouse, France, home of the European aircraft manufacturer's headquarters, but aircraft completion activities, including reception, cabin installation, aircraft painting, engine run and flight tests, aircraft delivery and customer flight acceptance will be completed at the new facility in Tianjin.
"The signature of this framework agreement on the A330 C&DC will open a new chapter of strategic cooperation on wide-body aircraft with China," said Airbus president and CEO Fabrice Bregier. "Together, we will develop new facilities and capabilities, and attract new suppliers and businesses in China."
