Kerry Logistics to handle House Of Fraser's China expansion
HONG KONG's Logistics Network has secured the distribution contract with House of Fraser, the major department store chain, to support its e-commerce reach in China through 2016.
Kerry Logistics will operate more than 9,000 square metres of warehousing for the group in Shanghai, providing import agency services, import customs brokerage, and domestic distribution and e-fulfilment.
Value-added services will range from re-conditioning of consumer returns to product localisation.
"We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Kerry Logistics for our stores and online proposition," said House of Fraser international supply chain chief Tony Carr.
"Their expertise and local knowledge will be invaluable as we establish a presence in the region and bring our premium shopping experience to the consumers in China," he said.
House of Fraser is set to open stores across China, with the first three in Nanjing, Chongqing, and Xuzhou, and they also plan to launch an on-line portal in the country as part of ongoing expansion plans following its acquisition by Sanpower Group last year.
Said Kerry's UK sales chief Emma Rowlands: "We are delighted to be working with the House of Fraser team and supporting this great British brand as it expands into China."
