Sudan's air cargo exports plunge 39pc in 2014, but imports up 100pc
SUDAN's air cargo export volume fell by 39 per cent in 2014, while cargo imports rose by 100 per cent compared with the previous year.
The volume of air cargo transported from the capital's Khartoum airport (KRT) to the rest of the country declined by 45 per cent, reported Daily Sudan Vision of Khartoum.
The United Nations operated 1,378 flights to and from KRT to transport staff and cargo last year.
Twenty two international carriers connect KRT to 19 international airports, including one in Europe, six in Africa and 12 in the Middle East.
