India opens long-sought domestic cargo terminal at Visakhapatnam
DOMESTIC cargo will be handled through the Integrated Cargo Complex at Visakhapatnam International Airport half way up India's east coast from this week, reports the Hindu of Chennai.
An office of Delex Air Cargo was officially opened by India's Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju last week at the long-sought domestic cargo terminal.
The facility has been provided space at the common user terminal at the old terminal building, which has been converted into a cargo complex.
"We undertake scanning and handling of both inbound and outbound domestic cargo on behalf of various airline operators," a Delex spokesman said.
The tender process for selection of the agency for handling international cargo is expected to be completed soon.
