Lufthansa Cargo likely to follow others in all-in rates
LUFTHANSA Cargo is likely to start offering all-in rates in July and join the growing ranks of airlines abandoning surcharges, reports Lloyd's Loading List.
Customer sources indicated that they expected Lufthansa to make the change, following Emirates, Qatar Airways, IAG and SAS in offering prices with fuel and security costs included.
American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and AirBridgeCargo are also reported to be moving to an all-in rate structure.
A spokesman for Lufthansa Cargo said no decision had been made, but said the company was investigating adapting a different pricing structure.
"As such a decision would have a major impact on our customers, we do this analysis in a very careful way. We would, of course, communicate immediately if any changes will take place," he said.
