CMA CGM to levy US$1,000/TEU Asia-Europe rate hike July 1
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has announced rate increases of US$1,000 per TEU from the Far East to northern Europe to Mediterranean and north African ports from July 1.
The rate increase of $1,000 per TEU would apply to west Med, east Med, Adriatic, Black Sea and North Africa destinations from Asia, but cargo to Syria face a slightly higher increase of EUR925 per TEU (US$1,041.92).
Joining other lines in rate hikes, CMA CGM said its "Rate Restoration Programme" was in a "continued effort to maintain its service quality".
