ABX Air to lease 15 B767Fs to DHL Express until March 2019
ABX Air, member of the Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), has reached a deal with DHL to "extend its support" of the express giant's air cargo network in the United States through March 2019.
Under the terms of the deal, ABX Air will lease 15 Boeing 767 freighters to DHL Express, its main customer, for the duration of the contract.
This was in addition to the current 13 freighters, after their leases were extended. ABX Air will also supply DHL with two more B767 freighters, reported Switzerland's ch-aviation.
"This new agreement will give DHL continued access to efficient, reliable freighter services in the US market," said ATSG chief executive Joe Hete.
He said the partnership will add to the group's strong performance of late.
Half of the company's 45 Boeing 767 freighters are deployed under multi-year dry leases, which Mr Hete said are producing "attractive cash flow returns," with "additional business arising from an improving air freight environment, and growth in our maintenance services and other operations".
