CaroTrans opens container freight stations in Cincinnati and Indianapolis

NON-VESSEL operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator CaroTrans, has opened container freight stations (CFS) in Cincinnati and Indianapolis, after Chicago, Columbus, Cleveland and Detroit.

The facilities offer forwarders simplified freight rate processing, local market proximity to reduce inland transportation costs and cargo handling for greater cost savings and security, a company statement said.

Chicago branch manager Andrew Weisse will oversee the Indianapolis receiving station while Cleveland branch manager Maggie Piktel will manage the Cincinnati CFS.

Said Ms Piktel: "The Cincinnati station gives our customers near this major market the ease of dropping off freight close to their own facility rather than trucking to Chicago."

Said Mr Weisse "With our new Indianapolis CFS, customers now have a local delivery, same day transport option in the region which simplifies processing and offers a single, end-to-end rate for global shipments."

The company's US network comprises 14 offices and 23 container freight stations.
