Bunkering in S Korea’s Incheon, Daesan ports halted on bad weather: traders
Bunkering activities in South Korea’s western ports of Incheon and Daesan came to a halt Wednesday morning due to poor weather conditions, particularly strong winds, traders said Wednesday.
“Western ports [of South Korea] are closed,” a Seoul-based trader said. “The weather is bad, ports are closed due to strong winds.”
Traders said bunker fuel deliveries have been affected, but the impact will be minimal as operations should resume when weather conditions improve.
Traders said the bunker fuel market has been tight in the western ports since late November due to increased demand for fuel during winter.
South Korea’s western ports see about 200,000-300,000 mt/month of bunker fuel sales.
