Maersk ups rate US$900/TEU as Shanghai index ends week at $705/TEU
MAERSK Line, the world's biggest container carrier, is raising its Asia-north Europe rate by US$900 per TEU from November 1 after rates had fallen as low as $600.
According to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index, spot Asia-Europe rates stood at loss-making $705 per TEU at the end of last week.
The world's No 3 carrier French CMA CGM, announced earlier this week its intention to increase Asia-Europe rates $850 per TEU.
