Conference focuses on seafarers’ conditions
Get the chance of discussing seafarers’ conditions worldwide at the Conference on the Seafarer as part of Global Quality Shipping. It takes place during Danish Maritime Days in week 41.
Would you like to take part in a debate on seafarers’ conditions in the future? Then, register for the “Conference on the Seafarer as part of Global Quality Shipping” on 6 October during Danish Maritime Days.
At the conference you can, inter alia, hear Mr. Brian Orrell, representing Seafarers’ Rights International, and Mr. Joseph Cox, President and CEO of the Chamber of Shipping America, discuss whether our expectations of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) have been achieved. The MLC took effect last year. In addition, focus will be on what we can furthermore do to improve seafarers’ conditions of employment, especially in order to attract young people to the maritime industries. 3F, CO-SEA, the Danish Shipowners’ Association and the Danish Maritime Authority have arranged the conference, which is partly supported by the Danish Maritime Fund.
