Yemeni flights stop as rebels take city, port still working
INTERNATIONAL airlines have stopped flights to Yemen's Sana'a airport after Shiite rebels stormed the city, seizing government buildings, media facilities and military bases, reports the AP.

While a cease fire is supposedly in place, Houthis rebels, seeking a new 搕echnocratic government? control of much of the capital, giving them power to dictate terms, reports the New York Times.
Rebels fought with automatic rifles and "technicals", truck-mounted heavy machine guns, while the military responded with small arms and artillery.
Saudi Arabia and other Sunni-led states say the rebels are backed by Shiite Iran. Sunni states are waging a proxy war against Iran through Syria.
The Yemeni conflict began weeks ago when Houthiss supporters blocked roads to demand the reinstatement of fuel subsidies and a cabinet shake-up. Last week protests escalated into gun fights in the capital.
