Dachser buys out 3 partners in 3 Asian countries to expand operations
GERMAN logistics provider Dachser has expanded operations in Asia by taking over its partner's shares in three countries, making it the sole shareholder in the company's ventures in India and Thailand and the majority shareholder in Bangladesh.
In August 2014, Dachser acquired all of the shares in India and Thailand owned by Indglobal, an affiliated company of AFL, and a majority of its shares in Bangladesh.
"Our strategic aim is to build a network of offices and warehouses across Asia and around the world," said Dachser Asia Pacific chief Edoardo Podest.
Said Dachser operations chief Thomas Reuter: "We see great potential in the Indian market. This was an important step toward strengthening our intercontinental network and working more closely with customers in these growth markets."
From its India head office in Mumbai, the company administer 500 employees at 27 locations. In Bangladesh, Dachser has a presence at two locations, while in Thailand, it operates from Bangkok.
In recent years, Dachser has established subsidiaries in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia and expanded activities in Greater China and Korea.
