HK's Globalwings Logistics merges with Guangzhou's AOL Global Logistics

HONG KONG's Globalwings Logistics has merged with Guangzhou-based AOL Global Logistics, a major provider of cargo services from China to Africa.

The deal was struck between Globalwings Logistics CEO Behram Baluch and the chairman and founder of AOL Global Logistics, Alhaji Ademola Olagunju.

AOL Global Logistics was established in 2002 in China where it is fully registered under Chinese law and is a holder a China forwarding and logistics licence, known as Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE).

"Ademola has always been one of my most valued clients for more than a decade in the logistics industry. We have been through thick and thin together," said Mr Baluch.

"This partnership is a testament of a long standing business-client relationship, fostered and nurtured over the years through trust, loyalty and friendship," he said.

Following the merger, Mr Baluch takes over as managing director of AOL Global Logistics Ltd. An industry veteran with a career spanning 25 years across the Middle East, Africa and the Far East, he has a solid track record in leadership and management.

Said Mr Olaqunju: "I have always admired him for his tenacity in the face of adversity. He is the most dependable and trustworthy person I have ever worked with."

Under the new partnership, the company will continue to have its headquarters in Guangzhou along with its other offices in Yiwu and Lagos, Nigeria. Plans are underway to develop and expand its position in other key African markets.
