Toll wins US$93.2 million marine logistics contract from Chevron Australia
CHEVRON Australia has awarded a contract for Australia's Toll Group to supply marine logistics services that are expected to generate revenues of A$100 million (US$93.2 million) over five years.
The work involves logistics support for Chevron's western Australia operations, including the company's LNG asset on Barrow Island.
Toll designed, and is constructing, three Landing Craft Tank (LCT) vessels to support Chevron's supply chain when delivered.
"Our innovative design includes two underdeck passages that reduce the amount of interaction between the crew and the cargo, making the vessels safer to load, sail and unload," said Toll managing director Brian Kruger.
"These vessels also have larger capacity due to their three-container stacking capabilities, and our innovative double-hulled design with automated gauges makes for safer, more environmentally-friendly vessels."
Fifty new jobs will be created under the contract including six management and support staff located in the Pilbara.
In addition to the LCT contract, the Australian logistics giant has also been awarded a short-term contract for the provision of a vessel to provide extra support for the carriage of fuel to Barrow Island.
