Danaos to use VSTEP simulator to train staff in ship control and maneuvers
VSTEP is to deliver and install its NAUTIS DNV Class A FMB Simulator and Instructor Station at Dana抯 Shipping headquarters in Piraeus, Greece, in the third quarter to provide simulator operator training for selected Dana抯 staff.
The simulator purchased by the containership owner offers a 240 degrees horizontal field of view and an instructor station to be used to train navigation and maneuvering of box ships in its fleet.
For this purpose, new container vessels were developed and added to the simulator in addition to the existing container vessels in the simulator ship library.
Said VSTEP sales director Joust van Rees: "We are glad that one of the largest containership owners in the world has joined the VSTEP simulator family.
