Danaos to use VSTEP stimulator to train staff in ship manoeuvring
VSTEP is to deliver and install its NAUTIS DNV Class A FMB Simulator and Instructor Station at Danaos Shipping's headquarters in Piraeus, in the third quarter to provide simulator operator training for selected Danaos staff.
The simulator purchased by the Greek shipowner offers a 240 degrees horizontal field of view and an instructor station to be used to train navigation and manoeuvring of box ships in its fleet.
For this purpose, new container vessels were developed and added to the simulator in addition to the existing container vessels in the simulator ship library.
Said VSTEP sales chief Joost van Ree: "We are glad that one of the largest containership owners in the world has joined the VSTEP simulator family.
