DHL Express Kenya attains EU air cargo security validation
GERMAN parcel delivery giant DHL Express Kenya has been validated as a RA3 (regulated agent operating from a 3rd country) under the new European Union security regulation EU859.
揥e are delighted to be recognised as a RA3 so that we can ensure an uninterrupted flow of shipments and maintain safety and security,?said Kenya country manager Alan Cassels.
The European Commission reviewed its aviation security legislation and in August 2011, new regulations were adopted for the security of air cargo flown into any EU airport.
The new regulations, applicable since February 2012, require all air carriers flying cargo into the EU from non-EU countries to ensure that certain standards for security are met before loading.
Having done so, they are designated Air Cargo or Mail Carriers operating into the Union from a Third Country Airport?(ACC3).
As a result, DHL Express ensured that multiple stations across different regions were validated as RA3 so as to guarantee delivery of all shipments to the EU.
