China wants certification of US grain imports over health fears
CHINA's Import Inspection Authority, AQSIQ, is demanding that US distiller's dried grains (DDG) imports to be officially certified free of the MIR 162 GMO trait amid health concerns.
According to export trade group, the US Grains Council said in a letter emailed to Reuters by a trade source, the new requirement is effective immediately.
All DDGs shipments departing from July 24 that do not meet the certification rule will be rejected, the North American Export Grain Association (NAEGA) was reported to have told members.
