Investigation into 24-rail CP car derailment in Moose Jaw continues
INVESTIGATORS are continuing their work to determine the cause of the derailment of 24 Canadian Pacific rail cars carrying lumber, asphalt and petrol derailed on July 16, 35 kilometres from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
The Moose Jaw Fire Department inspected the derailment scene for leaks, but didn't find any. No injuries were reported.
CP spokeswoman Salem Woodrow said: "There is no leak and there are no public safety issues."
Heavy equipment was being brought in to assist CP crews to clean up the derailment.
