Port volume increases 11.6 per cent at Estonia's container terminal
ESTONIAN's largest container terminal, Transiidikeskuse AS Muuga, boosted its container turnover at 88,298 TEU, a 4.3 per cent increase on the same four month period in 2013.
August has been a stand out month for the Muuga Port terminal based near Estonian capital of Tallinn handling up to 18,379 TEU and contributing to an eight year increase. Its cargo volumes of 1.8 million tonnes were up by three per cent.
The Muuga general goods terminal handled 987.05 thousand tonnes of general goods, up 11.6 per cent same period 2013, cited a report from the Baltic Transport Journal.
Muuga Port is based in the southwest part of the Gulf of Finland, 17 kilometres east of Estonia and boasts the deepest berths in the Baltic Sea
