First of 9,400-TEU ships in 28-ship series is sent to CMA CGM

THE CMA CGM Danube, first in a series of 28 new vessels under construction for the French shipping line, is undertaking its maiden voyage from China on a bareboat charter to CIMC.

The 9,400-TEU CMA CGM Danube was built at the DSIC shipyard in Dalian. It is designed to serve the Black Sea through the Strait of the Bosphorous, offering as much loading capacity as possible with a 300-metre length and a 48-metre width.



The Malta-flagged vessel is equipped with 1,458 reefer plugs for FEUs, a large number of slots for a 9,400 TEU vessel, reported in Global Whispers.



The service that the ship is to operate, the Bosphorus Express (BEX), calls at: Dalian, Tianjin, Kwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Izmit, Istambul Ambarli, Constanza, Odessa, Ilyichevsk, Port Said, Port Kelang and Singapore, before returning to Dalian.
