NYK's Yusen Logistics launches temp-control LTL in Indochina
JAPANESE freight forwarder Yusen Logistics, formerly NYK Logistics, has launched a cold-chain less-than-truckload services for food products in Indochina.
The LTL reefer service will support consolidation, flexible scheduling, and reduced transportation costs in comparison with chartered trucks, said a company statement.
Thermal blankets will be used during truck transfer to keep temperature products consistent. The service is already available between Ho Chi Minh and Phnom Penh.
"With reefer trucks often used for road haulage of food products and other chilled cargo, solutions can be costly with scheduling issues, as trucks sometimes need to be chartered even for small orders," the company said.
