Sino-Russian Hunchun-Makharino rail freight to hit 2.2 million tonnes
THE Sino-Russian Hunchun-Makharino railway is expected to handle a total of 2.2 million tonnes of freight this year, according to the Jilin Province Economic and Technological Cooperation Bureau, reports Xinhua.
The Hunchun-Makharino Railway resumed operation last August after closing for nine years. Total volume of coal through the Hunchun-Makharino rail checkpoint reached 285,299.5 tonnes as of the end of May.
The monthly cargo volume after this August via the customs checkpoint is expected to reach 300,000 tonnes.
