Jiangsu's Zhenjiang cargo volume up 7.5pc to 8.9 million tonnes in 4 months
ZHENJIANG port located in the eastern Jiangsu province posted a 7.5 per cent year-on-year increase in overall foreign trade cargo volume to 8.9 million tonnes in the first four months of the year, reports Xinhua.
While the number of international shipping vessels that transited the port in the period dropped slightly to 979 from the original 1,006.
Analysis shows that gross tonnage and cargo capacity of a single vessel increased 2.8 per cent and 4.5 per cent year on year respectively. Inbound and outbound cargo mostly includes coal, metallic ore and anhydrous sodium sulphate.
