Huanghua port's quarterly container volume up 115.9pc to 82,700 TEU
THE Huanghua comprehensive port area in northern China's Hebei province recorded a robust growth of 115.93 per cent year on year in container volume to 82,700 TEU in the first quarter of the year, reports Xinhua.
Overall cargo volume handled by the port area in the period increased 2.1 per cent to 40.09 million tonnes.
The direct container shipping line from the port area to Guangzhou Nansha port has been officially launched recently, which has brought double increase of monthly container volume to the port.
The port's cargo volume in March was up 16.1 per cent year on year to 16.62 million tonnes, while its container volume soared 145.3 per cent to 36,800 TEU.
