DHL and IDEXX Laboratories strengthen partnership in Leipzig
DHL Express has expanded its partnership started in 2011 with IDEXX Laboratories, a provider of diagnostics and information technology solutions for veterinary practices.
DHL was originally selected as the laboratory's primary carrier in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the express shipment of time-critical deliveries from vets to its reference laboratories, a company statement said.
The partnership mainly focuses on samples sent from veterinary practices to the IDEXX Leipzig laboratory that serves as the company's central diagnostic testing centre for the EMEA region, and is situated in the vicinity of DHL's main European hub in Leipzig, Germany.
"Our Leipzig reference laboratory creates a true competitive differentiation for IDEXX. In addition to strengthening our position in existing European markets, it also opens up new opportunities to extend our reach into important emerging markets.
"Our aim is to further enhance our service offerings in cooperation with our key partner, DHL Express," said IDEXX Laboratories vice president Andrew Ferguson.
