13,208-TEU OOCL Korea to join mega ships of Asia-Europe route
HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has held a naming ceremony for its latest 13,208-TEU newbuilding, the OOCL Korea, on Geoje Island in South Korea. She is joining the Asia-Europe trade.
Said OOCL chief executive Andy Tung: "The productivity gains and greater economies of scale that can be achieved with the next generation of mega vessels are clear, and by continually enhancing our fleet we can remain competitive and provide quality services to customers."
The OOCL Korea will be deployed on the Loop 6 service on the following port rotation of: Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Shenzhen-Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo, via the Suez Canal to, Southampton, Antwerp, Hamburg, Rotterdam, via the Suez Canal to, Jebel Ali, Singapore, Shenzhen-Shekou and back to Kaohsiung in a 77-day round trip.
