Sino-Kazakh border 2-month farm import value hits US$2.3 million

THE farm produce imports through the Sino-Kazakh border checkpoint Bakhty in Xinjiang Tacheng district soared 2,462 per cent year on year in total import value to CNY14.45 million (US$2.32 million) in the first two months of the year, attributed to the launch of the "green channel", since last December, reports Xinhua.

The art show and commodity exhibition activities of the first Sino-Kazakh Silk Road Economic Belt was recently held in Tacheng city. Nearly 200 government delegations and enterprises from the East Kazakhstan have attended the event and held talks with the government on the expansion of economic and trade cooperation.



Tacheng municipal party secretary Zhang Yan said the city will promote the construction of grain and oil industrial park and international agricultural exhibition and trade centre to form a industrial cluster providing produce processing, trading, exhibition, warehousing and transport.
