Piraeus Hellenic Petroleum's bunker loadings halted on strike: sources
Bunker fuel oil loadings from three state-run Greek Hellenic Petroleum refineries are due to be suspended Wednesday because of a 24-hour strike, sources said.
The strike is in response to government plans to cut salaries and hike taxes, as well as fresh layoffs. The protest is being organized by private and public-sector unions and is set to last until 6 am local time (0300 GMT) Thursday.
The strike is not impacting refinery operations, the company said. Piraeus bunker suppliers said they do not anticipate any impact on bunker fuel operations Wednesday as suppliers were notified earlier and loaded their barges in advance.
Prices remained steady Wednesday on subdued buying interest, sources said
