Concrete poured for bridge pier on Yancheng section of Lianyan Railway
THE concrete pouring for the first bridge pier of North Jiangsu Irrigation General Canal Bridge on Yancheng section of the Lianyungang-Yancheng Railway (Lianyan Railway) has been completed, reports Xinhua.
The CNY26 billion (US$4.28 billion) 234-kilometre Lianyungang-Yancheng Railway in eastern China's Jiangsu province started construction in December 2013.
With 12 planned stations along its route, the railway stretches from Ganyu County to Yancheng city, and is one of the major projects in China's Medium and long-term Railway Network Plan.
After completion, the railway will help optimise road network of coastal port cities in eastern Jiangsu and promote the regional economic integration in Yangtze River Delta.
