Japan's Jan. bonded bunker fuel sales slip 5% on year to 2.1 mil barrels: METI
Japan's bonded bunker fuel sales fell 4.6% year on year in January to 2.09 million barrels (331,797 kl), data released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed.
The January sales were 11.8% lower compared with the December volume.
Meanwhile, sales of bonded marine diesel oil in January came in at 5,385 kl, down 13.6% from a year earlier, and down 20.7% from December, METI data showed.
Japan imported 36,496 kl of bonded bunker fuel oil in January, while no imports were recorded a year earlier, METI data showed.
Bonded bunker fuel is exempt from import tax and can be sold only to ships plying international routes.
