Hebei's total logistics value rises 9pc to US$1.3 trillion in 2013
THE Hebei Modern Logistics Association reports that Hebei province, which surrounds Beijing, had a total provincial logistics value of CNY8 trillion (US$1.3 trillion) in 2013, up nine per cent year on year.
The province's logistics added value in the year totalled CNY240 billion, representing an eight per cent year on year increase, reports Xinhua.
Provincial e-commerce volume maintained rapid development with its full-year trade value hitting CNY750 billion and online shopping reaching CNY70 billion.
The provincial postal business volume and business revenue in 2013 both reached more than CNY7 billion and grew nearly 30 per cent year on year.
Hebei province invested CNY18.5 billion in port construction in 2013, with 18 production berths newly added, which brought an extra 120 million tonnes of cargo handling capacity to the ports.
The current number of production berths in the province now comes to 158, with the overall handling capacity reaching 800 million tonnes, ranking third nationwide.
