Inner Mongolia's Mandula checkpoint wins full-year operational approval
INNER Mongolia Baotou Customs revealed recently that Mandula checkpoint will open as a temporary facility for all of 2014, having won the approval of the China National Port Administration Office, reports Xinhua.
Mandula checkpoint, one of the major overland trade routes between China and Mongolia, was first opened for cargo transit in 2002 with the seasonal openings in March, May, August and November. It won temporary approval in April 2009.
Some 293,500 tonnes of import and export cargo transited in 2013 with the trade value of US$22.9 million. The import cargo reached 292,900 tonnes with the value coming in at $22.8 million, while 600 tonnes of exports were valued at $86,800.
