DB Schenker in Morocco joins its European land transport network
DB SCHENKER Logistics has extended quality and security standards of its European land transport network to its African branches in Tangier and Casablanca in Morocco, following an audit and certification process.
National company Schenker Maroc SA provides daily connections with the company's terminals in Europe based on direct lines with Spain, France, Germany and Italy, a statement said.
"The high quality standard of our arm in Morocco enables us to offer customers services under well-known quality and security levels," said Schenker management board member Karl Nutzinger.
The branches in Morocco went beyond the ISO standard, he said, adding that this was confirmed by successfully passing a product audit conducted by a neutral certification body.
The Casablanca facility has also been awarded the security focused TAPA FSR A-level certification, after an intensive implementation process, making it an ideal base for providing logistics solutions for high-value products in North Africa.
The terminal has a bonded warehouse of 4,800 square metres for cross-dock activities and value-added logistics services. "As the gate of Africa, Morocco offers a very strong strategic position for the African transportation market," Mr Nutzinger said.
