2 bulk, 5 box berths to soon to be operational at Lianyungang port
LIANYUNGANG Port Group revealed recently that a total of seven berths in the port have passed acceptance test and expected to become operational soon, reports Xinhua.
Thus far, the public production berths in the port, 250 kilometres southwest of Qingdao, has increased, which is said to have brought extra handling capacity up to 6.31 million tonnes or two million TEU per year.
The seven berths include one 100,000-tonne bulk chemical fertiliser berth, one 100,000-tonne Alumina berth, one 100,000-tonne container berth, three 70,000-tonne container berths and one 20,000-tonne container berth.
