Xinjiang Korgas area's fruit exports up 31pc to 119,000 tonnes in 2013
THE northwestern Xinjiang Korgas area (including checkpoints of Korgas and Dulata) posted a year-on-year 31.2 per cent increase in fruit exports to 119,000 tonnes in 2013 with the export value rising 28.1 per cent to US$110 million, reports Xinhua.
The exports mainly include apples and oranges. Apple export volume in the year reduced 11 per cent to 52,000 tonnes with the value falling 22.7 per cent to $43.44 million, while orange exports increased 1.3 times to 50,000 tonnes with the value growing 1.5 times to $45.18 million.
