Alexander Global Logistics moves 47-tonne load from Berlin to Egypt
CARGO Equipment Experts (CEE) member firm Alexander Global Logistics, has successfully transported two adsorbers, each weighing 47 tons and spanning seven metres, from Berlin to a job site in Alexandria.
The heavy and outsized equipment, designed to reduce pollutants in gas emissions, also included containers and breakbulk items. CEE said the on-carriage in Egypt presented the main challenge given the considerable width of the adsorbers.
The scope of the work organised by Germany's Alexander Global Logistics included loading by mobile-crane, barging to Antwerp, handling in Antwerp, sea freight transport to Alexandria, surveying by in-house experts, customs clearance in Alexandria and on-carriage to job site.
