Manzhouli's railway container volume up 6pc to 71,106 TEU in 2013
MANZHOULI checkpoint, the northern China's largest overland checkpoint in Inner Mongolia bordering Russia, posted a year-on-year six per cent increase in rail container volume to 71,106 TEU in 2013, reports Xinhua.
The aggregate import and export cargo via the checkpoint in the year increased 6.2 per cent to 30.06 million tonnes, ranking first among the overland checkpoints in China.
Its rail checkpoints in the period handled a total of 28.84 million tonnes of cargo, while its truckload cargo volume came to 1.21 million tonnes.
Manzhouli government has introduced supporting measures and maintains close cooperation with other transport inspection departments to enhance clearance efficiency to secure the steady growth of the freight volume.
