Hebei port container volume expected to top 2 million TEU in 2014
THE northern Hebei provincial ports are expected to handle a total of two million TEU in 2014, according to Hebei Provincial Transport Department, reports Xinhua.
The provincial government plans to invest CNY17 billion (US$2.81 billion) in ports construction this year to optimise the structure of the ports and enhance its development.
It will build 17 new production berths in 2014 to boost its annual port tonnage throughput to reach 900 million tonnes.
