OOCL ups north Europe-Asia rate US$200/TEU and $300/FEU March 1
HONG KONG's Orient Oversea Container Line (OOCL) has announced a US$200 per TEU and US$300 per FEU rate increase from North Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, UK/Ireland to Asia starting in March.
"Considering that the current levels are unsustainable for the long term, we are announcing a general rate increase, which will be applied to all cargo loading on or after March 1," said the OOCL notice to trade.
"Currently, ocean freight rates continue to be below the required level to cover basic operating costs or transportation costs on our eastbound Europe to Asia trade," OOCL said.
