Fujian's food import volume up 20.6pc to 532,200 tonnes in 2013
THE southern Fujian province posted a year-on-year 20.66 per cent increase in food import volume to 532,200 tonnes in 2013, with the food import value rising 12.27 per cent to US$494 million, according to Fujian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, reports Xinhua.
The total food import and export volume in the same period via the checkpoints in the province increased 8.02 per cent year on year to 1.29 million tonnes, while its total trade value grew 5.16 per cent to $5.21 billion. The food exports grew 0.66 per cent to 762,000 tonnes, and the export value went up 4.47 per cent to $4.72 billion.
